Of gilt-finished jeweled lever movement, the openface pocketwatch of circular outline with blued-steel moon-style hands and applied black enameled Arabic numerals, against the gold ground accented by blue and white enameled fluttering butterflies, within a polished gold case, the reverse depicting numerous flying purplish blue enameled bats, with scattered moonstone accents, further embellished by a sculpted gold serpent bow, circa 1899-1900, with French export marks.
New species of bat found, Niumbaha superba, and it’s adorable.

broke in a new tiny sketchbook today! I might make something bigger out of the bottom one at some point. I really want to get back into putting full, detailed environments into my work. I’m rusty, and that’s just terrible.

When you flip bats upside down they become exceptionally sassy dancers.

Clothes hangers, by Veronika Paluchova, were modeled after the night creatures that hang upside down in the dark. The wardrobe or closet are usually dark places perfect for bats to live in. When the hangers are not in use, the bat wings can be folded to save space.
