Denis Medri draws Star Wars as an 80’s high school movie
See you on the ice rebel scum
Remembering Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars. Acrylic background paintings by talented Scott Wills.
I was telling him my cats name is Anakin.
And he was like ‘Skywalker?!’
Me: “Yeah! Sometimes he acts a little bit like Vader though.”
He kinda just stared at me, “What? Why? What do you mean?”
Me: “Because they are the same person.”
Him [In a very distressed voice]: “WHAT DO YOU MEAN???”
It than dawned on me that this kid has probably only ever seen the Clone Wars cartoon and idolizes Anakin as this great man.
And this is how I ruined a five year old kids life.
Lupita Nyong’o has read for a part in Star Wars VII

English artist Craig Davison creates series of paintings that beautifully illustrate the awesome power of childhood imagination and our limitless ability to play pretend as our favorite movie characters. He draws from a wide variety of movies, but the pieces seen here all revolve around Star Wars.
Kids play their hearts in the foreground while their shadows loom larger than life in the background as the fictional characters they’re pretending to be. Tree branches have become light sabers, cardboard tubes and a hair dryer work equally well as blasters, a garbage can and a colander are all you need to be R2-D2 and C3PO, and a pair of headphones serve as Princess Leia’s cinnamon bun hairdo.
Visit Craig Davison’s website to check out more of his delightful and nostalgic artwork. Then go grab a tree branch and meet us at the park for a light saber duel.

That day, Vader was amazed to discover that when Boba was saying “As you wish”, what he meant was, “I love you.”

The Expanded Universe as we knew it will soon be no more. Disney has created a special committee whose job it will be to figure out what is and isn’t part of a complete Star Wars canon — meaning all the EU material created over the years will be judged, and either become official or deemed invalid.
Furthermore, this means at some point all new Star Wars spin-offs will matter, because they will all be official. I don’t know how I feel about that.
Some interesting ideas in the comments section.
I hope they keep the Yuuzhan Vong.
The EU was my life all through middle school and high school. This is hard for me.
Yeahhh I hated most of the EU so… I’m at peace with this.
The thing that killed me about this setup was, okay, you put me in this bathing suit - but then I have to stop talking from here on? Strip me, and I’m silent! I am defiant with everyone else - Tarkin, Darth Vader - but this slug really shuts me up. Any defiance I had in the other movies, all gone.
I was so very happy to kill [Jabba]. It meant I could talk again. They asked me if I wanted a stunt double to kill Jabba and I said, ‘Really, really not. I really, really want to kill him myself.’
Carrie Fisher on being Slave Leia (via tederick)
Reason 10000 to despise the metal bikini and everyone involved with the decision to use it. Leia’s lack of dialogue in those scenes emphasizes that when she has the bikini on, she is an object for the male gaze to enjoy, not a person in her own right.
I’m happy that Leia at least got to forcibly take her agency back by killing Jabba with the chain that bound her, but I’m so angry that that’s the only moment of defiance she takes part in.
